Steve Arthur Carr Foundation

About us.

In loving memory of our father, Steve Arthur Carr, my little sister and I have decided to put together this nonprofit in his name. Shared Abundance is not just a name, but an idea. Our father was determined to make others successful any way he could. The Mission of “Shared Abundance, Steve Arthur Carr Foundation” is to lead child abuse survivors and underprivileged youth to success through individualized youth mentorships focused on financial planning, goal setting and implementation, as well as resource acquisition.

Step One: Answer a Few Questions

Mentorship Questionnaire

Financial Questionnaire

Legal Questionnaire

Career Path Questionnaire

Step Two: Match with a Mentor!

Based on answers to the questionnaires, the youth seeking guidance will be assigned a volunteer trained to walk with them step by step throughout the design and implementation of their “Success Strategy”.

Step Three: Design a “Success Strategy”

Volunteer Mentors will work with survivors one on one through whatever medium the survivor feels most comfortable (email, direct messaging, video conferencing, etc.).

Together, they will design a “Success Strategy” detailing how they will get from point A (with need deficiencies) to point B (where all needs are met and the survivor has all the tools we can provide to reach their goals). Youth and their assigned volunteers will then work together to stay on track and meet the goals set by their success strategy.

From the Mentee’s Perspective

Answer Some Questions

Mentorship – 13 Questions

Financial – 6 Questions

Legal – 7 Questions

Career Path – 11 Questions

Meet with Mentor

The mentees who sign up dictate the terms of meet ups. They may choose when and how to meet up be it over the phone, email, video conferencing, etc. In this initial meeting, the mentee and mentor will discuss potential success strategy ideas and/or a final project. If the fit doesn’t seem right to the mentee, they can request to be reassigned.

The “Success Strategy”

Volunteers take the information from the questionnaires, their insights based on their initial conversation with their assigned youth, and put them together following the Shared Abundance Foundation template to create a personalized success strategy.

Staying on Track

Things change! We get that. The volunteers commit to checking in on their mentees and monitoring their progress/making changes to their success strategies as needed.

Performance Reviews

Throughout the process, both the mentee and mentor will have opportunities to provide performance reviews. These reviews will track the progress of the implementation of success strategies and what modifications may be made to make the process smoother.

Final Project

This is an option last step to every success strategy. After all preliminary milestones along the success strategy are met, mentees will have the opportunity to work with their mentor to create a “Final Project” for board submission. This could be a business idea, a college acceptance proposal, a commitment to join the military, etc. combined with an essay, video, presentation, etc. sharing their journey through the success strategy. These final projects will then be submitted to the board for consideration of funding/promotion/support award(s).

Let’s make it happen!
